DOREEN represents a new concept in the realm of albums: a "songplay." This is a drama told via a series of songs. In this case, the songs are sung by a man sometimes about, and at other times to, his lady love. The songs trace the start of a romance through an apparent breakup, to a surprise return by the woman, and which causes a rejuvenated feeling of hope for the man about life and love.
